Our Wines

Welcome to Cerruti Cellars –A Tudal Family Winery located in Jack London Square in Oakland, California. We have three wine series available, our Winery-Icons Series, Vineyard Series and Signature Series. Produced by Kirk Venge (son of Nils Venge), our Signature Series consists of a blend of our 11-year-old River block, which sits next to the Napa River, with the 35-year-old Cabernet Sauvignon from our Old Vine block. Look to our “Vineyard Series” for limited-production world-class wines including single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from “Clift Vineyard” in Oak Knoll District, “Maldonado Vineyard”, Napa Valley Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir “Bacigalupi Vineyard”. Our “Winery-Icons Series” of wines depicts unique symbols near-and-dear to us across our four generations (Timeline attached) in the vineyard and at the winery.

Winery-Icons Series

Tractor Shed Red 2009 Tractor Shed Red, California

This historic and Proprietary Red Blend has been consistently produced since ’97. Our ’47 Massey Harris red tractor captured on our famous label still stands proudly at the winery outside the “real” Tractor Shed. Tudal Family expertise over four generations of growing and winemaking provides the expertise to craft this proprietary red blend, inclusive of Zinfandel, Syrah, and Cabernet Franc. This is a wine of impressive substance delivering a basket of aromas and flavors with cherries, plums, strawberries, and dark red fruits. The outcome is a luscious wine, bright and fresh on the palate, with a rich and rewarding finish. TSR is always a crowd-pleaser!
honker blanc 2010 Honker Blanc, Napa Valley

Our Sauvignon Blanc – named for the Canadian geese that winter nest each year near by the crush pad at our St. Helena Winery— is sourced from some of the best and well-known Napa Valley sites for growing this variety. The aromas carry the telltale signs of fresh mown herbs with lovely, creamy, bright fresh fruit such as pineapple, white nectarines, and guava. The wine lingers in the mouth for a long while, while balancing acidity cleanses the palate.
Double Gold – 2009 San Francisco International Wine Competition
flatbedred 2010 Flat Bed Red, California

This Zinfandel (blended with 5% Cabernet Franc) honors our vineyard workers, who have ridden on our workhorse Red Flatbed truck that is captured on the label with an original watercolor from local artist Juliette Bourjais. The wine is inky dark with blackberry and licorice aromas; soft and warm on the palate with black plum and blackberry flavors; excellent backbone with a long finish that will age well if cellared.
ragtopred 2008 Rag Top Red, California

Alma Tudal’s (2nd generation patron of this family business) favorite car, the Tudal Family 1964 Chevy SS Red Convertible still in working order around the winery, is the inspiration behind this proprietary red blend. The limited production hand-crafted wine has lovely perfumed aromas augmented with baking spices — cinnamon and cocoa. There are blackcherry flavors on a silky soft body. The wine is balanced, delicious, and will continue to age well for up to 5 years.

Vineyard Series

Tudal Clift Cabernet 2009 Tudal Family Clift Vineyard, Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley

Now into our fifth vintage from this skillfully farmed 1.8-acre Oak Knoll District vineyard, we believe each release has surpassed in quality its predecessor. This Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard located in the southern part of Napa Valley delivers us wines with lovely nutmeg, clove, and cocoa, backed with lots of rich and refined blackberry fruit. Fitting to the characteristics of the Clift Vineyard, the wine has a substantial backbone, and layers of texture that are built well for aging of 8 to 10 years.

Tudal Cuvee 2008 Tudal Family Napa Valley Cuvee

This wine represents a pleasant blend of three well established Napa Valley varietals; Zinfandel, Merlot, and Sangiovese. The wine shows well today, and will continue to develop more completely with a year or two of bottle aging. Each grape contributes its own varietal characteristic: sangiovese for its spice and cedar nose, zinfandel for the soft and round texture on the palate. If you try hard enough, you can taste the three layers in the wine.
This wine has enough tannin and backbone to stand up to Bar-b-que or softness to accompany your favorite tomato sauce.

Signature Series

Estate Grown Cabernet Sauv 2009 Tudal Winery Estate Grown Cabernet Sauv., Tudal Estate, Napa Valley

We’ve blended our 9-year-old River block, which sits next to the Napa River, with the 35-year-old Cabernet Sauvignon from our Old Vine block. The result is a perfect synergy of bright dark red fruit from the River, and black fruit, earthiness, and complexity from the Old Vines. In the end, what we have here is a wonderfully balanced wine – which is our signature – delicious sweet fruit, and enough tannins and acidity to hold up for the long haul.
